In 2006-07, the ACDC changed its name to the Hillside Learning and Behavior Center, and our programs for kids with Emotional Impairments relocated to Martin Public Schools. Therefore the location in Martin is now Hillside East, with a 2006-07 enrollment of 67 students, and the location in Allegan is Hillside West. |

The AAESA Board of Education approved the introduction of a new, innovative pre-school program at Hillside Center WEST. Based on a highly successful and innovative program initiated out of Ohio, the program offers children 3 to 5 years old who are typically developing youngsters all of the academic and social skills essential to school success, and the opportunity to serve as peer role models for their peers who have developmental delays. |

The Allegan Area Technical & Education Center (ACATEC) and Allegan County Michigan Works! (both programs of the AAESA) are launching the new Academic Services Unit with the goal of expanding present partnerships and developing new partnerships with Allegan County local school districts, private schools, businesses, communities and regional colleges and universities to develop seamless career development and life-long learning opportunities. This growth will result in new, expanded and customized educational and training opportunities that will replace the current concept of Adult Education Course offerings presently being offered in Allegan County. |

Mike Foster, Allegan Area Technical & Education Center Student from Otsego High School, was recognized by the AAESA School Board on May 17th for his artistic photo collage and poster designs featuring all of the seven school districts served by the Tech & Ed Center. Ron Fuller, AAESA Superintendent, presented Mike with a plaque for Excellence at the board meeting May 17th. |
