On Friday, January 12, 2007, thirty-five Accounting and Office Technology students from the Allegan County Area Technical and Education Center (ACATEC) competed at the 2007 Business Professionals of America (BPA) Regional Competition at the W. A. Lettinga Davenport University campus in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Over 1,000 students from all over southwest Michigan competed at this event in the administrative support, financial services, information technology, and management/marketing/human resources areas. ACATEC students received 15 awards with 12 students meeting eligibility to attend the BPA Leadership Conference held at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Grand Rapids on March 22, 23, 24, and 25.
“Any of our students who places high enough at this BPA State Competition will be eligible for the National Leadership Conference to be held in New York City, New York in May,2007,” proudly explained Anna Patton, ACATEC Office Technology Instructor.
