High School Graduation Requirements Presentation |

The State of Michigan has now set the number of credits in each subject area, and, in many cases, specified the specific courses that must be taken in English, mathematics, science, social studies, health/physical education, the arts (visual, performing, or applied), and world languages. An online learning experience is also required. This presentation will introduce you to these new Michigan High School Graduation Standards also known as the Michigan Merit Curriculum. What is the Allegan County Literacy Initiative? |

The Allegan County Literacy Initiative provides the local districts with a common focus and coordinated approach to developing successful readers. All 8 school districts serviced by the Allegan Area Educational Service Agency have agreed to focus on early literacy instruction and assessment. These school districts have adopted: - Common literacy assessments in grades Pre-K, K, 1, 2 & 3.
- Centralized data collection and analysis.
- Common professional development to focus on literacy.
