High School Improvements & Content Standards PDF Print E-mail
A new section of the Learning Resource Unit is being created for High Schools within the Allegan County in order to disseminate information on the new requirements for graduation, content standards and the school improvement framework.  All High Schools need to begin work on implementing the new requirements.  As part of our first update we have links to several resources for High School Improvement Teams.
Both reports would be useful for High School Improvement Teams as they begin to study the implications of the new requirements and to look at the new course guidelines that will be available to all schools in mid August. These guidelines will look at High School courses and line up the content expectations that should be taught in each class.

The ESA will provide assistance to schools as they begin to work towards implementation of the new requirements, content standards and looking at the school improvement framework. To this end we will begin to offer a monthly High School Administrator Academy to begin to collaborate as a county on these new requirements.

Power Points will be available on the new requirements and on implementing the content standards.

High school ELA leaders will be brought together to build capacity among all of our high schools during the 2006-2007 school year.

If you have any questions on the new High School requirements, please call Patti Dobias at 673-2161, ext. 3747.
