The Allegan County Hearing Impaired Program is a total communication program that advocates a combination of the components of the oral and manual approaches. Speech, sign, speech reading, natural gestures, finger spelling, use of residual hearing, reading and writing are combined and geared to the specific language needs of the individual student with a hearing impairment.
