The following activities will also take place each day: · Students whose cars get eliminated early in the competition can participate in the On-the-Spot Design Challenge. · Members of the WMU’s Department of Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering will be available to talk to students as they demonstrate the Sunseeker Solar Car. (if available as this is a race year) · Barb Land of the Convergence Education Foundation will be on hand to demonstrate the Segway Human Transporter. The Allegan County Math and Science Center in cooperation with the Watershed Program created the very successful Student Stream Science Program. The Rabbit River Watershed Program is a voluntary, community-driven watershed project to identify the problems, needs, and water quality solutions of the watershed. The Rabbit River Watershed covers 187,200 acres of land in Allegan, Barry, Ottawa and Kent counties. It is a voluntary community-driven watershed project which identifies the problems, needs and solutions of the watershed.
