Course Description:
Students will study the theory and operation of Brakes, Braking Systems, Steering, Suspension Systems, and all Electrical Systems on today's automobiles. They will also be exposed to Engine Repair, Automatic Transmission and Transaxles, Manual Drive Train and Axles (gear ratio's, flow of power through gear sets), Heating and Air Conditioning. They will also be learning theory and operation and basic services in these areas.Students will learn to use the most up to date, state of the art diagnostic equipment to diagnose and repair today's extremely high tech automobile ignition and fuel delivery systems. Students can leave the program with an ASE Student Certificate in Maintenance and Light Repair, and are prepared to take the State of Michigan mechanic certifications.
