• Keeping Your Child Safe

    We are committed to doing everything we can to ensure the health and safety of our staff and students.  We are implementing all required provisions of Michigan's Mi Safe Start Return to School Roadmap, going above the requirements to implement all strongly recommened guidance as well. We are also following the direction of the Allegan County Health Department.

    Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

    All Staff:  Face coverings are required at all times throughout the instructional day.  Staff will also be using other PPE like gloves and coverings over their clothing at various points throughout the day.

    PreK-5 Students:  Beginning Monday, October 5th (due to Executive Order 2020-185), face coverings are required at all times and in all indoor settings.

    Grade 6-Transition Age Students:  Face coverings are required at all times and in all indoor settings.  

    Exceptions:  Staff and Students who are unable to medically tolerate the wearing of a face covering, is incapacitated or physically unable to remove a face covering without assistance must not wear one.  Alternatives to the basic cloth face covering will be explored to determine whether they are appropriate.

    Staff and Student Health Screening

    All Staff will participate in a health screening, including a temperature check, prior to entering the school building each day.

    Parents are asked to screen their students for symptoms and possible exposure before putting them on the bus or dropping them off at school.  Please see Allegan County Health Department's When a student should stay home to the right.  All students will have a temperature screening prior to entering the school building each day.

    Students and staff with symptoms must stay home.

    Hygiene

    Handwashing will be built into the school day and hand sanitizer will be readily available for use throughout the day.

    Cleaning

    Frequently touched surfaces (desks, tables, laptops, equipment, light switches, etc) in the classrooms and common areas like the sensory room and gym will be disinfected at the end of each day, at mid day, and in between use by student cohorts.  EPA approved disinfectants will be used.

    Deep cleaning usng special EPA approved disinfectants will take place each Wednesday.
