AAESA Receives School Safety Grant

Michigan state Police logo The Allegan Area ESA has received a $105,000 grant through the Michigan State Police to improve school safety. The money is part of a $25 million competitive grant process based on safety audits done in each building with law enforcement. The funds will be used to provide swipe card access control system on classroom doors at Hillside Main Campus and the Allegan Tech Center. The grant will also provide for a security camera system at the Hillside Young Adult Campus.

"As we continually review and update our safety and security procedures, these upgrades will help us make our buildings safer for all occupants." said Allegan AREA ESA Superintendent William Brown. The safety improvements are scheduled to be completed by June of 2020.
