New Preschool Application Available

Help Me Grow logo Help Me Grow Allegan and the Allegan County Great Start Collaborative are announcing the launch of the new preschool application.

In January, the Help Me Grow website went live and last week, the new online preschool application became available. With this system, families will be connected early and keep connected through kindergarten entry, to help prepare children to enter school prepared to succeed.

AAESA’s Great Start Readiness Program (state-funded preschool) and Community Action of Allegan County’s Head Start Program (federally-funded preschool) work together to enroll as many families as possible in the free and/or low-cost programs.

Help Me Grow Allegan can also help families gain access to local play groups, early intervention programs and community events/activities.

"We are really excited to bring this early childhood system to the families in Allegan," said Lindsay Sichta, Allegan Area ESA Director of Early Childhood Services. "Our hope is that we can impact all children to help build up our community and increase access to our programs."

Help Me Grow is a national model that works to promote collaboration across child-serving sectors in order to build a more efficient and effective system that promotes the optimal healthy development of young children. When all of the organizations working on behalf of young children work together, we can better prevent or reduce the impact that stress or adversity may have on children and families and increase protective factors that can maximize the well being of children and families.
