AAESA Staff Gains Certifications

SRPC logoFive Allegan Area Educational Service Agency staff members have completed training for their School Restorative Practices Coordinator certificates. Congratulations to Angel Day, Catie Birkel, Ashley Jackson, Becky Jakubowski, and Becky Huberty.

The School Restorative Practice Coordinator (SRPC) provides behavior intervention support to their entire school campus or building. Their duties include training employees on behavior management techniques, facilitating restorative action plans, responding to student behavioral concerns, and supervising students.

“Restorative Practices are powerful in building empathy and ownership in our leadership, our staff, our students, and their families,” said Allegan Area ESA Director of Specialized Instruction Rebecca Reed.  “The efforts of Hillside Learning and Behavior Center staff to complete this additional certification reflects the impact Restorative Practices have had on the culture and climate of Hillside as well as the SI Department Leadership Team's commitment to support our staff to grow professionally and take on leadership roles.”

The training program includes 40 hours of blended learning and requires a passing grade on a 100 question final exam.
