The Michigan Association for Pupil Transportation (MAPT) recently recognized two members of the Allegan Area ESA’s transportation team for their outstanding service and dedication to student safety. The announcement and awards were presented during a department meeting at the Allegan Area ESA Transportation building.
The annual MAPT awards honor five individuals across the state who exemplify excellence in school transportation. Nominations were submitted by transportation supervisors in May, highlighting those who go above and beyond to ensure safety, comfort, and well-being of students. Former Allegan Area ESA Transportation Supervisor Kadin Haddock submitted multiple drivers and attendants for the honor and two were selected for their care and commitment to students and their safety.
2025 Bus Attendant of the Year

Carol Rambo is known for her compassion, dependability, and unwavering commitment to student well-being. Her role is especially vital in supporting students with special needs, and she approaches each day with care, empathy, and professionalism.
Rambo consistently goes above and beyond, ensuring the bus environment is safe and organized, offering encouragement to students, and assisting colleagues whenever needed. Her positive spirit and dedication make a meaningful difference in the lives of the students and families she serves.
2025 Bus Driver of the Year

Chelsy Millner, an incredible asset to the Allegan Area ESA team, demonstrating a deep sense of responsibility and care for the students she transports. Her dedication extends beyond simply getting students from one place to another. She creates a welcoming, safe, and positive environment on every route.
Millner’s patience, attentiveness, and compassion help students feel comfortable and valued, whether she’s greeting them with a warm smile or offering reassurance to ease their nerves. Her consistent professionalism and genuine kindness have made her a cherished part of the transportation team.
Derek Alexander, who took over the Transportation Supervisor role this academic year couldn’t agree more with the selection of Millner and Rambo, praising both for their exceptional service stating, “Chelsy and Carol truly represent the heart of what we do in school transportation and here at Allegan Area ESA. They care deeply about our students and take pride in making every ride a safe and positive experience. We’re proud of our entire transportation team and thrilled to see two of our outstanding members recognized for their dedication and service. It’s wonderful to see MAPT recognize their hard work and commitment.”
