Congratulations to Hillside nurse Natalie Smith. Today she is being honored as one of mLive's 2023 Top Nurses at an awards brunch in Lansing. She is one of 11 nurses recognized for going above and beyond everyday, dedicating their careers to providing care for others.
Today is National STEM/STEAM Day. The @AlleganAreaESATechCenter has a fantastic STEM program called Engineering, Electronics, and Robotics. Students investigate the world of engineering through hands-on projects (e.g., underwater remote operated vehicle [ROV], pumpkin launchers, robots, electronic devices.) Students will apply the Engineering Design Method while using 2D and 3D design software, 3D printers, hand tools, and power tools to build electronic circuits, program Arduino/Raspberry Pi devices, program an industrial FANUC robotic arm, and learn digital application competencies

Congratulations to our staff Halloween Costume Contest winners. First place went to Lydia Hanse and Sam Sallee of the Tech Center dressed as Slash and Axel Rose. It was a tie for second place between Maria VanderMeer from the Education Service Center as Eloise, Elsa's Grandma and the Tech Center's Bill Baker dressed as Magnum PI. #happyhalloween

It's SOUP - TOBER! Through October 31st, the Allegan County Food Pantry Collaborative (ACFPC) is running the annual October soup drive. Their goal as a county is to collect 10,000 cans of soup – this enables participating members of the ACFPC to provide soup and other pantry needs for individuals and families during the cold winter months.
Cans of soup can be dropped off at Hillside Learning Center, the Tech Center and the Education Service Center.
